Why Join?
At the Starr-Gennett Foundation we’re working to preserve a priceless legacy
from America’s musical past. If you find the unique story of Starr Piano and
Gennett Records as fascinating and exciting as we do, you should join us.
The Starr-Gennett Foundation was established in 1991 to preserve the legacy
of the two firms. Privately funded, the Foundation is overseen by an
uncompensated board of directors composed of educators, local officials, and
seasoned business people. We have only one paid staff member. Operations are
funded by donations, Foundation membership dues, grants, and sales of
memorabilia including Gennett reissues on CD.
How does my membership help the Foundation?
Expanding our outreach activities requires increased funding. We
aim to reach a worldwide audience to share the remarkable story
of Starr Piano and Gennett Records, and to this end, the Foundation
surpassed the 300 member mark in 2004, which includes individuals
in 36 states and three countries. Grant support enables the Foundation’s
programming, but membership support is vital to continued
operations.
We’re growing, and we need your help. Please join
now!
